Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs,
I hope you are all doing well on this beautiful Friday morning. I'm looking forward to this day off as I get to spend it with my granddaughter, Lula today. There is nothing that warms my heart more than her sweet little smile. I'm also hoping to get my fingers in the dirt a little bit this afternoon too. I have flowers waiting to be planted and something about this creative process does my soul good. I don't know if it's the taste of the farm and all the gardening we were charged to help with as kids with my mother growing up or the feeling that I'm somehow partnering with God in making our world a bit more beautiful. Either way, it's therapeutic for me.
This Sunday is Mother’s Day and we will be celebrating the special women who have had an impact upon our lives. Many of you submitted pictures, which will be shared in a special musical piece during worship. Pastor Adam's sermon will focus on moms we read about in the gospels as we continue our series on Second Chances. We're going to celebrate in a host of other ways as well. We'll also be recognizing the 12 adults and 5 children who joined Resurrection Blue Springs last Sunday at our Pizza with the Pastor.
You can take a look at what else is coming up below....
- Connect with other Moms from Rez Blue Springs RezMoms is a group for moms who want to grow in their faith, make friends, be completely honest and – most of all – just have some well-deserved “Mom Time!” Moms of children of all ages welcome. Please invite your mom friends. Check us out on facebook here. For more information, contact Diane.Enlow@cor.org.
- Do you have a 2016 High School Graduate? Let us know so that we can honor them in worship on May 15. Send information to Heather.Sooley@ cor.org.
- Would you consider becoming part of the Resurrection Blue Springs Blood Drive Committee? This committee will help support blood drives hosted at the church four times per year. You would work alongside fun loving people such as yourself to coordinate efforts to host the blood drive. This involves pre-drive planning, working with an Account Manager from the Community Blood Center to develop and distribute bulletin inserts, flyers, and to recruit fellow church family members to donate life-saving blood to make appointments, as well as assist with the logistics of the actual drive day. Please sign up at Guest Services, online here , or contact Betty Witt or Patsy Shipley to be part of this important ministry team.
- Register for Middle School and High School Camps! For those entering 6th, 7th or 8th grades, we have a group reservation at Youthfront Camp West for session 9, August 1-6, $430.
