Weekly eNote from Pastor Scott Chrostek for Friday, May 6, 2016 from The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Downtown in Kansas City, Missouri, United States

Greetings RezDowntowners,
It is an exciting day in Kansas City! This morning at 10:00am the KC Streetcar launches with its inaugural ride at Union Station amidst all sorts of festivities. Those celebrations will continue running all weekend long at First Fridays and through Middle of the Mapfest! As a part of living into this moment, my small group and I are planning on handing out cookies to riders as a way of meeting people where they are! If you have the time this weekend, be sure to come on out and be a part of this great weekend in our city and engage this city in a way that invites others to join you on a journey of knowing, loving and serving God.
This weekend in worship we’ll be celebrating Mother’s Day in worship and in our KidsCOR programming by continuing our sermon series on Second Chances by focusing our attention onto the stories of three mothers. My hope is that you’ll join us and invite others to do the same as we continue striving toward God of the Second Chance through stories of restoration, redemption and repurposing. After spending the past week away with Wendy and Freddy on vacation, I’m anxious to get back downtown engaging in the business of building Christian community for the sake of transforming the heart of the city! I am excited to see you but until then, be sure to check out all of the things happening in the life of this church over the next few weeks. Below are a variety of ways to get connected to things happening in the life of this church and community!
