Resurrection West,
This Sunday it will be my privilege to preach live as we conclude the Second Chances series. We will be looking at the second chance given to Peter and how God used Peter’s somewhat impulsive behavior and propensity for action to build the Kingdom of God. I’ve entitled the sermon “Swimming with your clothes on, drunkenness, and other craziness that is Pentecost”! We will learn together some practical insights and an understanding of the question behind the question in Sunday’s message. We will also be celebrating all of our graduates with a gift for you. We will be praying for you as you begin the next step in your journey after high school, college, vocational school, and more.
Last week we celebrated Mother’s Day and many of you mentioned to me how moved you were by the music and message on Sunday. You can view and share the special music and media tribute to mother’s on our Facebook page by clicking here and also the sermon archive by clicking here. It was exciting to see the tribute to mothers has had over 2800 views and 24 shares to date. That’s a potential to reach thousands upon thousands. Thank you for declaring your faith in God and love for all by sharing these moments in worship on your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more. I am meeting visitors to our church regularly now who share they saw these moments on social media and that prompted them to visit our church.
I also want to celebrate the largest baptism class I’ve taught at RezWest this last Tuesday night with over twelve households, from babies to seniors who explored the meaning of baptism and made plans for their special day in worship. It’s an incredible honor to be a part of your lives in this way.
Come on out this coming Monday for the blood drive. We will exceed 35,000 pints this month with our blood drives across four campuses. That’s some 70,000 lives impacted by your donation of blood, so make plans now to give. More details below

Registration is now open for RezWest Sports Camp and RezWest VBC. Both camps will take place June 20-24; Sports camp (Basketball, Soccer, Flag Football & Cheerleading) will be held in the morning, followed by VBC “Meet the Royals” in the afternoon. Register for one or both of these events. A supervised “sack lunch” time will be held for those who participate in both activities. We hope to help hundreds of kids grow in faith, wisdom and friendship through these programs, so we will need many volunteers - youth and adults! All parents who volunteer for VBC and have children younger than kindergarten will be able to register their little ones in early childhood VBC or nursery. If you are interested in participating in or volunteering for either camp, please go to cor.org/west/VBC2016 for more information and registration.
