Weekly eNote from Pastor Scott Chrostek for Friday, May 13, 2016 from The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Downtown in Kansas City, Missouri, United States

Greetings RezDowntowners,
It is awesome to be writing you this morning, as it has been a great week. We have had so much fun in ministry between classes, meetings and enjoying some great conversations with people concerning their life of faith and experience of God. It has been great. Our 20/30 group kicked off this past week with tremendous enthusiasm at Cinder Block Brewery for Trivia night. At the same time our Boomers group enjoyed a phenomenal morning at the Nelson Atkins a week ago, experiencing of this city’s gems. My study on The Misfit Mission continued building momentum in its second week on Wednesday night, and things are looking to continue into this weekend. On Saturday morning, May 14th at 9:00am, my wife Wendy will be speaking with the Women’s Breakfast Series about Developing a Joyful Identity. I want to encourage you to invite some friends to join you for a joy-filled morning of conversation and breakfast! For more information contact Michele Janson at mjanson@everestkc.net.
This weekend in worship we’ll be concluding our sermon series on Second Chances by focusing on our failures in faith as we take a look at Peter, the disciple who denied Jesus not once or twice, but three times. Does God offer us a second chance? Does God extend forgiveness to those who forsake him? Join us in worship as I have the privilege of preaching this weekend on Peter, the disciple of action who constantly found himself jumping in over his head! I hope you’ll join me. It’s also Graduation weekend and Pentecost weekend as well. So, wear your red to represent the power of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the church in Acts 2, and bring your graduates, as we’ll have gifts to give all of you who are celebrating a graduation this year!
