GATEWAY E-News - 101

As I was reflecting this morning, I was reminded once again on one word. That word is “Love”. Jesus said the two greatest commands are to love God with everything that we are and to love others. I preached on this very topic this past weekend.I hope you love God with every part of your life. Love Him with your words, love Him with your actions, love Him with your thoughts, love Him with your time and love Him with your entire life. With so many distractions in the world and with so many things in the world pulling for our attention, we can forget to love God. I want to challenge you to keep pursuing loving God more and more! Don’t let the world or the things of this world steal your love for God!
I also hope you love others. Jesus said the world will know that you are my disciples by the way that you love. Love is our method for sharing Jesus! Love is our method for showing the world that Jesus is real! And love is the single greatest way to impact another life! I want to challenge you to keep pursuing this call to love others. Loving others is not easy but it is required for all believers.
I love 1st Corinthians 13:4-8 which says this, “4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.” Let’s all seek to love this way!
