Rabbi Evan Moffic from Congregation Solel in Highland Park, Illinois, United States for Monday, 6 November 2017 "Daylight Saving's Gift"
Yesterday was daylight saving times—“Fall Back." I much prefer it to “Spring Ahead" because we get a precious gift: an extra hour.
What do you use the extra hour for?
I use it to get back in the habit of waking up early because as the mornings get darker, my internal alarm clock seems to get weaker. But this extra hours gives me a chance to reboot.
We all need those opportunities to reboot: in our relationships, our work, even our faith. God does not want us to be static.
Every day God gives us opportunities to wake up a little earlier, to lift our heads a little higher, and open our arms a little wider.
