Richard Rohr in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States for Tuesday, 14 November 2017 "30 Years: Saying Thank You"
Friend,
Since 2008, the Center for Action and Contemplation has been sending my Daily Meditation emails to readers around the world. We started with just a few thousand friends in our address book and now reach over 270,000 inboxes!
This year, my fellow faculty Cynthia Bourgeault and James Finley have joined me in rediscovering our essential, contemplative foundations and rebuilding Christianity “From the Bottom Up.” I believe that these teachings can help renew the Christian path as a way of healing and transformation that we so desperately need.
Twice a year we pause the Daily Meditations to ask for your support. Please take a moment to read our Director Michael's note below about how you can help. The Daily Meditations will continue tomorrow with another reflection on God as Us, exploring the sacred nature of human relationships.

Dear Friends,
The Center for Action and Contemplation turned 30 this October! We’re taking this opportunity to reflect on our past with gratitude—for our founder, Father Richard, and for all who have helped us grow and live into our mission:
  • to encourage the transformation of human consciousness and equip people to be instruments of peaceful change
Since the beginning, our work has only been possible because of the faithful commitment of people like you. We are humbled by your willingness to partner with us and by your trust in us to steward your resources. Every gift—large or small—is critical to our ongoing ministry.
Last August when we asked for support, almost 3% of Daily Meditation readers donated a few dollars or more. We’re so grateful to those who made it possible for us to continue sending Fr. Richard’s reflections and share them with more people. Whether you’re able to donate now or not, we thank you for being part of this contemplative community.
More than ever before, at this time in Earth’s own history—4.5 billion years—we need ways of thinking and being that heal rather than hurt, that unite rather than divide. We believe that together we can create a more loving, just, and peaceful world.
If the Daily Meditations have impacted you, I hope you will join me in saying “Thank you” to Father Richard and the CAC team. Donate online or by mail, share a Daily Meditation with a friend and tell them what these messages mean to you, or hold us in your prayers.
In honor of our 30th anniversary, we invite you to give $30 as an investment in our future. Whatever amount is within your means, thank you!
Donations make it possible for us to send the Daily Meditations to more and more people, always at no charge. Donations also fund scholarships for the Living School, online courses, and conferences.
In gratitude for an online donation of any size, now through December 14, we will send you a digital, PDF copy of Father Richard’s newest book, Just This. Following Jesus really isn’t complicated, though Christianity has often made it so. There’s only one thing that matters: being present to Love in each moment and each being.
In this season of giving and receiving, let’s be conduits of love and grace, as Rilke says, “no forcing and no holding back, the way it is with children.” May we welcome life’s gifts without clinging and let them flow on to bless another corner of the world.
Peace and Every Good,

Michael Poffenberger
Executive Director, Center for Action and Contemplation
