Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs,
I want to say a big thank you to all who participated in last weekend’s Trunk and Treat! We ended up with 43 amazing trunks and had plenty of candy and cupcakes to provide to all our family, friends and neighbors. We don’t know the exact number but our best guess based on food served and photos taken is between 500-600 people. We do know for certain it was a great afternoon full of fun and laughter capped off by God with one of the most amazing sunsets I’ve seen in a long time. It felt like an affirmation of good work done together. You can take a look at some of the pictures of the day on our Facebook page.
This Sunday we conclude our sermon series on The Reformation by taking a look at how God calls us to carry the church forward into the future. For all the good the reformation brought, sometimes the pendulum swings too far or not far enough where reform is concerned. Pastor Adam will address this aspect of our church history and how reformation is a constant need in our lives and church even today. He’ll invite us to imagine how God might be shaping our own future. I hope you'll invite friends and join us for this great conclusion.
Make plans to join us too on Sunday afternoon for our Bonfire and Hayride at the Wolverton’s Farm (36311 East Borgman Road, Buckner, Missouri). It will be a beautiful day for a hayride, roasting marshmallows and hot dogs and watching the sunset from the ridge. This is a great opportunity to bring your friends and neighbors along to introduce them to our church community.
Remember that this Sunday we make the change for Daylight Savings Time. It’s the official 'Fall Back' Sunday...meaning you get an extra hour of sleep-- so don’t forget to turn your clocks back!
This Sunday is also the start of our Joy in Serving season. You can pick up a Thanksgiving Meal bag to fill and return to bless one of our food challenged families here in Blue Springs or purchase a $25 grocery card towards a turkey purchase. We'll have information about all the other holiday serving options as well.
Enjoy this beautiful weekend and I'll see you Sunday!
Pastor Penny
