Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs!
After arriving home from Malawi on Tuesday morning, I’ve been trying to catch up and get my days and nights turned back around. Our mission team would all agree that we had an incredible experience that we’re all still working to process. We met an amazing group of people who facilitate our partnerships in Malawi and worked alongside the people from six different small villages who speak a different language and live a drastically different lifestyle than our own.
We felt like our community garden work would make a positive difference in the lives of these people we met and we learned some new skills ourselves. We also can’t wait to share the news about our Zoe partnership. We got the chance to meet the group of orphans and vulnerable children we sponsor and see the difference this empowerment program is having in their lives. We plan to share the story of our journey with you a week from Sunday during worship.
This Sunday we’ll hear a different story from our very own Children’s Ministry director Diane Enlow. Diane will share the call and journey that brought her to work with the children of our Blue Springs campus. It’s a great story that I believe will resonate with many of you. Come join us this Sunday at 9 or 10:45 am to hear it. If you have friends, neighbors or families with children who are looking for a place for their children to learn and grow, bring them along to hear this message.

Back to School Drive
Team up with Resurrection Downtown to provide school supplies for our partner school, Wendell Phillips Elementary. We will also collect items for the school’s Tiger Store which provides incentives for students for attendance, behavior and meeting their reading goals. Pick up a bag at Guest Services to fill with school supplies listed on the bag (approximately $35/bag). Don’t have time to shop? Simply donate any amount for items we will purchase in bulk.
Summer rezlife News
Summer Volleyball – Each Sunday evening at 6:30 pm, we will meet for volleyball on the sand courts at Wilbur Young Park (next to Blue Springs South High School). Open to youth and adults. Come join the fun!

Come to our Small Group Taster on Tuesday, July 31,6:30-8 pm at Pastor Penny’s home. Discover ways to grow deeper in faith alongside others as you “do life” and grow spiritually together. Blood Drive
Thursday, August 2, 3:30-7pm, Fellowship Hall Put your faith in action by donating blood! It takes about one hour and has the potential to save two lives. Walk-ins welcome, sign up Sunday at Guest Services or make an appointment online here.
Play Dates at the Park
Have some fun with KiDSCOR this summer at our Playdates in the Park! We will meet at 9 am at different parks throughout the summer so the kids
can play and parents can mingle! Bring your kids, friends and neighbors too!

Backyard Block Party
Sunday, Aug. 12, 5 pm. Join our Resurrection Blue Springs community and neighbors on our church lawn to enjoy a potluck picnic, games, fun and fellowship! Sign up at Guest Services to help with the party set-up, providing side dishes, serving food, games or clean-up.
Furnishing Homes with Hope
Resurrection’s Flourish Furnishings Ministry collects, prepares and distributes donated furnishings and home essentials for those needing a hand up. We have many ways to serve with this ministry – find information at cor.org/furnishings.
