Date: Thursday, 16 August 2018
Gateway Church Family,

Experts say that when a church loses a lead pastor, it can expect a 5-15% drop in giving and attendance. An the larger the church, the bigger is the drop in giving not to mention the significant attendance decline as well when a senior pastor leaves.
The top seven problems most churches experience when they lose a lead pastor are:
  1. Drop in giving
  2. Drop in attendance
  3. Drop in overall member involvement
  4. A leadership vacuum
  5. A loss of missional momentum
  6. Inward focus takes over and outreach is soon forgotten
  7. There is a loss in staff member focus, direction and participation
So, since I just told you what the EXPERTS say is going to happen to our church, Gateway, we really don’t have much say in the matter…right!?
I guess the experts don’t know Gateway Church of the Nazarene in Murrieta, California. We say differently because we know GOD and each other.
Hey Church family, I am restating the E-News with the number 201 to represent a new beginning and a new and awesome journey we will be on TOGETHER. Do you know or remember that the E-News was started 2 years ago in 2016 to keep the church informed about the search for a Senior Pastor? We wanted the whole church to be informed, united and praying as one during our search for a new pastor. We also wanted to let you know what was going on in the life of the church church and in the lives of our families, Board and Staff.
Well here we go again. I will do my very best to keep you informed on the status of the search and what we are doing to keep this transition as short and productive as possible. I remember well that the Board and Staff was so very proud of how our church family handled the last transition and Pastoral search. That could have been a troubling time for Gateway but instead it was a unifying time of prayer, sacrifice and cheerful giving by so many to keep us in God’s will and waiting for HIS timing.
If you like this email and all the stuff I just made up off the top of my head, give me a high-5 this Sunday morning so I don't feel like I made you sad.
