Senior Pastor Nominations – Today, Friday, 8/31 is the last day for submitting nominations for the Senior Pastor Search. We begin evaluation and deliberations on Saturday 9/1. A big thank you to all the folks who took the time to submit a nominee for consideration.
Security Team – I did not get enough responses to my plea for volunteers to apply for the Gateway Security Team. Even after I offered a substantial signing bonus. Come on group, it’s only 4 hours a quarter. That’s only .002% of your time. If we don’t get a better response this week we will have to initiate the “DRAFT.” Don’t make me do it. Spinozzi
Please Identify Yourself - Ok this is slightly embarrassing, but somebody out there asked me about getting copies of the worship service on Sunday morning. I said that we don’t do that anymore. Well I was wrong…but it was not my fault as you well know. So, the bottom line is we can do it. So please tell me who you are so I can set the record straight and you to.
29 Palms Work Day – Ok you “closet do-it-yourselfers.” We have established a workday at 29-Palms, on Saturday September 15th to give the parsonage in a bit of a facelift. Here is your chance to work closely with the one and only Larry Upson and sidekick Eileen Young…or maybe the other way around. One is never sure these days. There is plenty to do, and Steve and Peggie will love you for it. Give Larry Upson a call and get on the dream team.
The Family Home – Hey, there is a family in our church that needs to relocate. They are looking for a three-bedroom home for under $1,500 per month. If you have one or if you know about one, please call the church office and let us know. If you don’t have one or don’t know of one you could start asking around. Need to move fast to get this done.
White Folding Chairs – There is no good way to say this, but we are missing approximately 27 of the white folding chairs from the back patio. Would the person who has these chairs please bring them back or let the office know you have them. We have events coming up and we don’t have enough chairs. The cameras know who you are so get with it and fess up.
Ladies Bible Study – This world-famous Bible study kicks off on Tuesday, September 4th at 9:15 AM with an amazing brunch prepared by a renowned French chef who you should somehow know their name. I’m sure you can still sign up if you act somewhat quickly.
Membership Class – Don’t forget to let the office know if you are interested in membership. This special class will be led by Pastor Mel Rich on Saturday, September 8th at 10:00 am. He only does classes every so many times. So, if you are looking to become part of the amazing Gateway family and learning the secret handshake, get a move on. Your church wants you.
