New DS in Goma Central District - by  Nzola Dieumerci
On the 10th day of October 2014, the Goma Central District (DRC) had their district assembly which was led by Africa Central Field Strategy Coordinator Rev. Stéphane Tibi. The program started with prayer, a powerful worship service and a message from  Rev. Tibi. After worshiping, we started our business.
Rev. Bugeshi Désiré

We needed to elect a new district superintendent. The former DS, Rev.Balibanga Katambu, had changed assignments to become the co-director of the Institut Théologique Nazaréen.
The district had never elected a DS before. Always, one had been appointed. The first and second ballots were similar. Delegates seemed to be staying with their first choice with no movement. On the third ballot however, Rev. Bugeshi Désiré received 212 out of 236 votes. With this great show of support, he was elected.
Thanks to our LORD for choosing this man of God as the new district superintendent for the North Kivu Central District.

Equipped to Transform Lives - by Robert MBOLELA
After the training on how to tell the Bible stories of Jesus Christ led by Africa Central Field Strategy Coordinator Stephane TIBI, we entered directly into a training session in different ecclesiastic zones of the South Katanga district. It was a great time of sharing the word of God  in a different way. We believe it will help to make more disciples of Christ for God's glory.
One of the participants pastor Edmond Lubuta, the Likasi zone leader, said, "This new method
Rev. Mbolela
of sharing the Word of God is the most powerful because it involves everyone who is at the session and it  gives a new inspiration to the attendees to contribute with a new interpretation of the Bible story. It brings a sense of responsibility to the attendees to make a decision immediately after the story to go and share the story with others who haven't yet listened to the Bible story of Jesus Christ across the district."
The focus of using this tool in the South Katanga district first and then in the entire Central Field is to reach the lost and bring them to Christ as He commanded us in Matthiew 28:19-20 to make  disciples.

JESUS Film training: Church Planting Movement - by Nzola Dieumerci
Nothing can be planned without God's direction. On November 14, I traveled from Kinshasa to Goma to train JESUS Film teams. Once I arrived at Goma International Airport, I was taken to another territory called Rutshuru in the Kiwanja area in the Virunga District, 75 km from Goma city. There, I met 14 brothers who came from three different ecclesiastic zones.

Around 5 pm, we opened our meeting with prayer and a devotion from Matthew 28:18-20 and 2 Corinthians 5:20 explaining the great mission that Jesus gave us to flood the world with His message and be His ambassadors.
Directly after the devotions, we threw ourselves into the demonstration of the new backpack JESUS film equipment. Members were excited to see how great it was compared to the old one. We ended the day by installing and re-installing the equipment for better understanding of the process. I was amazed to see how those people were taking note and asking questions during the practice time. (Watch a short video - "JESUS Film: The Bike and a Backpack", here.)

The following day was more concentrated on theory. Training included: "At the feet of Jesus"; "Standard A, B, C"; "Who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him"; and "Inconvenient Discipleship." We are not only showing the JESUS Film, but at the same time, we are in the Church Planting Movement, making disciples.
People were amazed by seeing the colorful Evangeball which we use to explain the way of salvation. One-to-one, they practiced with it. The training went well and the Kawanja people blessed God for the training for which they had long waited. Let's say Thanks to God for His provision.
My thanks to District Superintendent Pigeon for hosting the training and all the others who made it possible.
Editor's note: More about the JESUS Film training in the DRC will be in the next issue - "JESUS Film training: Start in Jerusalem".
Making Disciples in Zimbabwe - Dave Slamp
Last year, by the grace of God and the support of His servant, Pastor Hofisi Mutatu, the Highfield Church of the Nazarene in Harare, Zimbabwe planted a new church about 5 miles from Harare International Airport.  God has blessed and grown the Green Valley Church in the first year to about 150 members. This has been an amazing story of God's grace reaching new believers
Green Valley Church of the Nazarene
and building up a new congregation.  The hand of the Lord has certainly blessed this outreach!
Yet, turning to Jesus for salvation is only the beginning of a life that must be lived out for the Lord. As believers, we are taught to "grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ." Pastor Garikai Masuka explaines, "Our cry at the Green Valley Church was for depth. We wanted to be grounded in faith. Our prayer was answered when we attended the workshop on CareRing Small Groups led by Dr. David Slamp."
Over 90 pastors and dedicated lay leaders received the one day Small Group Leadership training at Highfield Church. Participants were taught how to build strong lasting relationships and shown how to disciple one another encouraging everyone to literally live out what God teaches us from His Word in daily life.
Cosmas has become the driver for this new exciting discipleship. Pastor Garikai reports,
Cosmas
"The church was organized into seven small groups within two months of receiving the training!" Cosmas has begun spending most of his time with his team of seven leaders. They, in turn, encourage and pray for their "disciples" who are growing in grace and knowledge.
A commitment to "making disciples" of this magnitude calls for our very best. Pastor Garikai reports, "We had a fair share of growing pains, but the joys of having seven small groups keeps us going. We know that God has certainly answered our prayers."
It is exciting to see churches taking our mission literally to "make disciples of the nations.

Please, pray for those in Madagascar affected by the plague and
those in Cape Verde affected by the volcano

Merry Christmas!
