In Memoriam: Caroline Schwarz
With deep sympathy and prayers, we share news of the passing of Caroline Schwarz of our congregation.
Caroline passed from this life on Thursday, May 21, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she had been living for the final years of her life. She was born on September 1, 1923 in Bloomington, Illinois. She is survived by her three daughters and their families: Jenny Strong Raney and husband, Henry, of Hot Springs; daughter, Kathryn Nelson and husband, Dave, of Hot Springs; daughter, Charlene Lowe and husband, Steve , of Redondo Beach, California; grandchildren: Keli Lee Davenport, Karen Jo Davenport, Craig Gillette, Lori Gillette, Ryan Lowe and Hailey (Lowe) Fynaardt; plus 11 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Elmer Strong and George Schwarz; and siblings Eddy, Jack, Betty, and Jim Butzirus.
Caroline was involved at the church, especially with the Sunday Bible School Class and United Methodist Women. In the community, Caroline was president of the Senior Citizens Club of Redondo Beach. She loved to sing and dance while always flashing her beautiful smile. During her professional career in the aviation industry she worked with Rockwell Corporation, North America Aviation and she retired from Boeing Corporation.
The family is planning a memorial service and inurnment, to be held in the Chapel at Pacific Crest Cemetery at a later date.
"O Lord, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. Look down upon our sorrowing hearts today, we humbly pray, and be gracious. Help all who mourn to cast every care upon you, and find comfort, through Jesus Christ our Lord."
