Last week, The General Conference of The United Methodist Church voted to accept a proposal by the Council of Bishops for a special commission on LGBTQ related polices and practices.
The Bishops' report promised to "explore options to help the church live in grace with one another – including ways to avoid further complaints, trials and harm while we uphold the Discipline.”
If the commission has any chance of creating a positive change long-term, it must go hand-in-hand with an immediate stop to the harm being done while the commission meets. Click below to sign a letter to the council demanding a halt to all LGBTQ related punishments.
