The National Alliance for Caregiving and the Alzheimer's Foundation of America are pleased to announce
#TalkBrainHealth.
#TalkBrainHealth is a toolkit and social media campaign designed to facilitate the conversation among loved ones on dementia and brain health. A $500 participatory stipend will be provided to ten coalitions in separate states.
The 10 selected coalitions will be asked to participate in ongoing social media activities from mid-October through mid-December 2016. Applicants should be members of a caregiving coalition in order to qualify, although they may have close working relationships with the local Area Agencies on Aging, the State Unit on Aging and Disability, or local healthcare providers. A caregiving coalition is defined as "a community of representatives that has come together to address the needs of family caregivers across the lifespan."
Applications for the stipend are due on September 23. Winners will be announced onSeptember 30. For questions about the campaign, contact Mike Wittke atmike@caregiving.org.
In addition to the stipend, support for award winners includes:
Planning calls with the Alliance and AFA on the #TalkBrainHealth program;
Technical assistance from the Alliance and AFA, through a 1-hour webinar and 1:1 training;
Social media content for the #TalkBrainHealth campaign; and
Cross-collaboration with national organizations working in dementia, Alzheimer's, and family caregiving issues.
