gotandem "Source of Truth"The very essence of your words is truth;
all your just regulations will stand forever
(Psalm 119:160)
Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.(John 17:17)
Our world is changing all around us and people are searching for answers. In today's world, we often feel we can "google" any question and quickly find an answer. Too often "an answer" is not the same as "the answer."
What are common sources people use to answer their questions and give them guidance?
What are the problems with using these sources?
Why is it important to have God's Word as the source of truth?

gotandem "He Ascended"
That is why the Scriptures say, "When he ascended to the heights, he led a crowd of captives and gave gifts to his people." Notice that it says “he ascended.” This clearly means that Christ also descended to our lowly world. And the same one who descended is the one who ascended higher than all the heavens, so that he might fill the entire universe with himself.[Ephesians 4:8-10]
Why is it important that Christ descended?

gotandem "Safe in His Hands"
Read

If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.(Psalm 139:9-10).
Show me your unfailing love in wonderful ways. By your mighty power you rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies.(Psalm 17:7).
The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand.(Psalm 37:23-24).
Reflect
I was trained to be self-reliant growing up. To not rely on anyone but myself. And because of that, it's been difficult to learn to rely on God. Well, that and the fact that I'm too proud to accept the help and comfort God offers. And if I can start accepting God's help well, then maybe my direction might get a little clearer.
Respond Take this week to see when you have the most difficulty relying on God.

gotandem "Unimpressive Wisdom"
Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.
Instead, fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
Then you will have healing for your body
and strength for your bones.
[Proverbs 3:7-8]
Why do you think the parallel between turning away from evil and physical health are tied here?
Do you have a tendency to "be impressed with your own wisdom?" How can you work on that?

gotandem "Learning Wisdom's Ways"
My child, listen to me and do as I say,
and you will have a long, good life.
I will teach you wisdom's ways
and lead you in straight paths.
When you walk, you won't be held back;
when you run, you won't stumble.
Take hold of my instructions; don't let them go.
Guard them, for they are the key to life.
[Proverbs 4:10-13]

gotandem "Among the First"
We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation--a salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth.[2 Thessalonians 2:13]
Whose salvation are you thankful for?
