"Love in Forgiveness" by Scott and Sherry Sherwood
Psalm 78:32 Still, they kept on sinning
and put no faith in his wonders.
33 Therefore, he ended their days in futility
and their years in terror.
34 When he brought death among them, they would seek him;
they would repent and seek God eagerly,
35 remembering that God was their Rock,
El ‘Elyon their Redeemer.
36 But they tried to deceive him with their words,
they lied to him with their tongues;
37 for their hearts were not right with him,
and they were unfaithful to his covenant.
38 Yet he, because he is full of compassion,
forgave their sin and did not destroy;
many times he turned away his anger
and didn’t rouse all his wrath.

Think about His love. Think about the love of our God and how His love is reflected through our actions, often looking a lot like mercy.
Mercy is, by definition, forgiveness. Merriam-Webster defines mercy as compassion, especially toward someone who has offended you, or compassionate treatment of someone in distress. If we want to experience mercy in our lives, we need a heart that is merciful toward others.
Not one of us is perfect. We have all sinned, and we are all in need of a Savior–of mercy extended beyond what we deserve. It is this mercy that allows us entrance into the kingdom of heaven and the opportunity to begin experiencing eternal life right here on earth–mercy extended to us because we have a heart that extends mercy toward others.
It is God’s desire to love others through us today, which looks a lot like mercy. Who is God calling you to reach out to today? Lord, give us a heart of mercy so that forgiveness and compassion are reflections of you in our lives.

1. Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above;
Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it,
Mount of Thy redeeming love.
2. Here I’ll raise my Ebenezer;
Hither by Thy help I’m come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wand’ring from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.
3. Oh, to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my feeble heart to Thee.
“Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,”
Long I cried to be made pure;
“Here’s my heart, O take and seal it,
Work in me Thy double cure.”
4. Hallelujah! I have found it,
The full cleansing I had craved,
And to all the world I’ll sound it:
They too may be wholly saved.
I am sealed by Thy sweet Spirit,
Prone no longer now to roam;
And Thy voice, I’ll humbly hear it,
For Thy presence is my home.

Thought of the Day: Matthew 18:33 Shouldn’t you have had pity on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?’

Please Pray: That many people in Trinidad and Tobago will come to know Yeshua the Messiah and receive the fullness of the Ruach HaKodesh.-------
