The Deaf Devo from The Deaf Missions in Council Bluffs, Iowa, United States "The Old Testament " Bible Reading: 2 Timothy 3:14-17 for Monday, 6 February 2017
2 Timothy 3:14 But you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, recalling the people from whom you learned it; 15 and recalling too how from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which can give you the wisdom that leads to deliverance through trusting in Yeshua the Messiah. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is valuable for teaching the truth, convicting of sin, correcting faults and training in right living; 17 thus anyone who belongs to God may be fully equipped for every good work.

The Bible is divided into two parts: the Old Testament and the New Testament. For the next few days we will talk about the books of the Old Testament.
Some people believe that Christians do not need to study the Old Testament. It is true that the New Testament shows us how to become a Christian and how to live a Christian life. But reading the Old Testament helps us better understand God's plan for our lives.
There are many reasons why the Old Testament is important for us. 1) The Old Testament teaches us about God and the world He created. 2) The Old Testament tells us about the Israelites, God's special people. God worked through these people to prepare the world for the coming of Jesus. 3) The Old Testament teaches us about obedience. When the Israelites obeyed God, He blessed them.
I hope you will read the Old Testament and learn more about God and His plan for your life.[Jo Krueger]
"Using the Scriptures, those who serve God will be prepared and will have everything they need to do every good work."[2 Timothy 3:17]
