Dear Elmira College community,
Students are back on campus and the 2018-2019 academic year is in full swing. Fall Orientation was full of laughter and excitement – with a few tears - as the Transformational Class of 2022 arrived on campus. Be sure to check out photos from the day on the College’s Flickr account. In addition to new students, we also welcomed several new faculty members to the EC family.
With the Fall Term comes the beloved EC traditions of Mountain Day, Family Weekend, and Octagon Fair. As announced at Reunion 2018, the Mountain Day tradition will once again be a surprise day for the campus community, so I encourage you to watch our social media streams for updates. Family Weekendreturns October 5-7 with the inaugural Bette A. Mammone ’78 Memorial Academy presentation by Steve Glick ’78 as honoree on Friday, 10/5, andOctagon Fair on Saturday, 10/6.
Earlier this week we announced a tuition reset for all full-time undergraduate students at Elmira College effective with the 2019-2020 academic year. The tuition reset supports the College’s 2018-2023 strategic plan goal of increasing and diversifying enrollment, and makes an Elmira College education a real possibility for more students by setting the College's tuition rate at one of the lowest undergraduate tuition prices of any four-year private college or university in the region. Watch for the release of the new strategic plan in late October/early November.
