Global Nazarene Mission’s Prayer Mobilization Line – Wednesday,
8 January 2014
"For I know the plans
I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to
harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
PRAISES:
Bill McCoy
On Christmas Eve, NMI received a request for missionary doctor
Bill McCoy who was en route from Papua New Guinea to Australia for medical
tests. On January 2 we received word that Dr. McCoy had returned to his
assignment at the Nazarene hospital in Kudjip. We trust the Lord’s hand is on
Dr. McCoy’s life and health and are thankful to know he has returned to
minister in Papua New Guinea.
New Nazarenes
David Wilson, General Secretary, released the 2013 denominational
statistics on December 18, which reveal that we had an increase in members of
14,761 (5.22 percent people from 2012). Praise the Lord. To read the related

PRAY FOR:
GLOBAL MINISTRY REQUESTS
Thai Pre-Christians and The True Meaning of Christmas
In the wake of increased attendance by pre-Christians at
Christmas outreach events organized by multi-denominational Thai churches, and
these people’s interest in the true meaning of Christmas, prayer is requested
for God’s way of keeping peace in Bangkok during these days of an anticipated
government shutdown next week. Believers don’t know where best to stand on the
issues, but prayers for repentance and righteousness on both sides of the
issues are needed. May the Lord raise up leaders who will be open and attentive
to His heart. Also pray that this time of political tension will open the eyes
of local people to see that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Volgograd Bombings
On December 29 and 30, bombs were set and detonated in the
Russian town of Volgograd. Nazarenes in the area ask for prayers for:
Peace. God's peace in hearts of the people.
Police officers, rescuers, and other special forces who already
had one sleepless night and will have one more
For medics, slippery streets means more injuries, but these explosions
added much more work for them
For local and state governments
For the families of the victims and all those affected by the
bombs
