Turning Wishes into Reality

Turning Wishes into Reality
We have a lot of wishes, for ourselves and for the churches we
serve. We wish our weight was different,
our retirement accounts fuller, our burdens lighter, our churches larger and
our budgets fully underwritten. It is
fine to have wishes as long as we recognize that simply having them will not
make them happen.
The key to turning wishes into reality is a well-executed
plan. This means that we have to have a
plan which has a high likelihood of success AND we have to implement it
well. If we have the same wishes that we
did last year (and perhaps even longer than that) then we are missing one or
both of these elements. We may have a
plan but it is not living up to expectations.
Or perhaps the plan is sound but our execution leaves much to be
desired. Or perhaps we have simply had
wishes which have not come true.
If you have wishes which have not turned into reality and you
are no longer content with the outcome then something has to change. Here are some steps to consider:
Bring in someone with expertise to help you create a stronger
plan
Add someone to your team to assist with execution
Get a coach to work with you on implementing your plan
Wishes can come true but it is never as easy as it looks in
fairy tales.
How is Your Website?
I am currently working on a project which has me taking a look
at the websites of over 1000 of the largest churches in the US. As you would expect, there is much good about
these sites. Many, however, are far from
perfect. Here are some of the issues I
have encountered so far:
Pages with missing content
“under construction” banners
No way to contact the church via email
Out of date announcements
No page specifically for potential guests
Confusing navigation and layout
Little or no information about staff
Your website is one of the most important ways people find out
about your church – for good or for bad.
It will either drive people to your church or away from it. A rigorous review is a great investment.
We can review your website and make recommendations regarding
layout, design, content, functionality and more. Your site will receive a page-by-page
evaluation and you will receive a list of specific recommendations. We will dialogue with you about the site and
our recommendations. This process can be
completed in 1-2 days for most churches which makes the cost affordable. Contact us today for more information and to
get started – don@dnacoaching.com.
