Beth Immanuel Newsletter Newsletter: Nisan 5774 - April 2014
BETH IMMANUEL SABBATH FELLOWSHIP
Shalom Beth Immanuel friends, congregants, and virtual congregants,
Nisan, the month of redemption, has begun. This year Nisan and April line up together, so it’s easy to keep the dates straight. Pastor Lancaster presented a new teaching about the month of Nisan last Sabbath. You can get into the seasonal spirit with the sermon Joy within a Time of Joy.
Shabbat HaGadol
Shabbat HaGadol, the big Sabbath before Passover, comes this year on Saturday April 12. Join us at the 9:00 AM liturgical service for the debut of the Beth Immanuel Men’s Choir in the Mussaf Liturgy.
Passover
We have posted our 2014/5774 Passover Guide for celebrating Passover with dates for 2014, scripture readings, and basic instructions for the seven days of Passover. Check out other articles and teachings about Passover at www.bethimmanuel.org/passover.
Passover Services
Seder night this year is Monday April 14. Beth Immanuel will have liturgical Passover services at 9:00 AM April 15 and April 21. Come sing the Hallel with us and rejoice in the season of redemption.
Resurrection Service
Please join us to celebrate the resurrection of our holy Master. Our annual candlelight resurrection service will be on Saturday April 19 at 8:00 PM, followed by a special, late-night meal in honor of the resurrection of Yeshua.
Meal of Messiah
We continue to celebrate the resurrection on the seventh day of Passover with our annual Meal of Messiah, Monday April 21 at 5:00 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Count the Omer
It’s a mitzvah to count the days from Passover to Pentecost. The first day of the forty-nine day count off to Shavu’ot (Pentecost) begins after sunset on Tuesday, April 15. Click here to download our chart for counting the Omer.
Troy Mitchell Album
Troy Mitchell’s new album, titled “Light,” is now complete. Troy says he hopes to celebrate the release of the album on Lag Ba’Omer this year (May 18).
New Covenant and Hebrews
Pastor Lancaster’s teachings on the Epistle to the Hebrews is now complete and he has begun to repurpose the forty-six teachings into smaller units. The first release from First Fruits of Zion appears under the title What About the New Covenant, already available in audio and scheduled for print release later this summer. Also watch for a new book titled Elementary Principles: Six Foundational Principles of Ancient Jewish Christianity.
Israel Trip
We still have room for participants in this year’s study trip to the land of Israel. October 27 thru November 11.
