DAY 13 OF 40 - Better Together Through Prayer And The Word

DAY 13 OF 40 - Better Together Through Prayer And The Word
Nehemiah 4:15
15 When our enemies heard that it was known to us and that God had frustrated their plan, we all returned to the wall, each to his work.
2 Thessalonians 3:13
13 As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good.
DAY 13 – BACK TO WORK
For the last two days we have seen the enemy try to “thwart (obstruct) the Lord’s plan to rebuild the wall.” The enemy used discouragement, threats, ridicule and insults. However, Isaiah 14:27 reminds us that the Lord’s purposes cannot be frustrated…For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back? No one!
The enemy could not frustrate God’s plan, but GOD CAN FRUSTRATE THE ENEMY’S! This is just what God did! The enemies were not able to follow through on their threats. God protected His people who were building the wall, and they ALL RETURNED TO WORK! They ALL returned to working on their section of the wall. Amazing!! ALL went back to work!
LIFE APPLICATION: I am sure you have heard these words somewhere before: “Well, if that is the way they are going to treat me, I quit! I don’t have to take this (you fill in the blank)!” We hear this in the work place, at home as well as at church, sad to say.
Question to ponder…How does a person get from the “I quit” syndrome to what we have in our scripture today…we all returned to the wall, each to his own work?
Could it have anything to do with who we see ourselves working for? Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men (Ephesians 6:7).
Father, teach me how to work as if my work were a service to You and not just working for men! Amen
