Olathe, Kansas, United States - The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection West enote from Pastor Jason Gant for Friday, 25 April 2014

Olathe, Kansas, United States - The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection West enote from Pastor Jason Gant for Friday, 25 April 2014
Resurrection West,
Christ is risen indeed! We had an amazing Easter weekend with a powerful message of hope and inspiring music! All told 2,357 souls worshipped with us at Resurrection West. This is much more than we projected and we want to thank the many volunteers who served throughout the week from Maundy Thursday worship, Good Friday day of prayer, Easter Egg Hunt, and Easter worship services - from set up/tear down, food preparation, parking lot attendants, coffee makers, nursery workers, egg hiders, musicians, ushers, greeters, security, medical, techs, and more we came together to share the hope found in Christ with our community! Thank you to the many of you who worshipped on Saturday evening or at 8am and 5pm on Sunday to make room for many guests.
Here is the attendance breakdown of each service.
5:30pm - 662
8:00pm - 333
9:30am - 661
11:15am - 476
5:00pm - 225
Each one of these numbers represents a soul, a child of God whom Christ offers hope and faith through the Resurrection! I am so excited you were in worship with us and I wanted to share that this picture that was given to me by one of our youngest members. He was as excited to give it to me as I was to receive it! Thank you John.
This Sunday I will be preaching live to conclude The Gospel of the Nobodies series. We return to our weekly worship times of 9:00am, 10:45am, and 5:00pm and will offer baptism and baptismal remembrance in every service. The text of Scripture that will guide is found Luke's final chapter - the resurrected Christ revealed. The message is entitled "The Discouraged and the Disbelieving", and my hope is to share a message filled with encouragement and faith!
Following the message, we will have stations at the front of the Sanctuary and the ushers will guide you forward (similar to communion) for baptismal remembrance. There will be a bowl filled with river pebbles and one of our Congregational Care Ministers will place a pebble in each person's hand saying, "Remember your baptism and be cleansed". I will invite you to keep that pebble and send you forth with a challenge. One of those stations will be for baptism. Pastor Chris and I will be there ready to baptize anyone who would like to be baptized. I know many of have mentioned you've never been baptized and would like to do so. This Sunday is your opportunity. Please register to be baptized at rezwest.org/baptism
