Greetings from The Global Immersion Project for Tuesday, 22 July 2014
Whether watching your local news or flipping through your social feeds, the leading headlines highlight the current conflict in Israel/Palestine and the growing crisis surrounding Immigration. While news feeds can be helpful in offering a quick sound bite, they often distance us from the stories of the real human beings caught in the middle.  TGIP finds itself positioned in the very center of these two crises, cultivating the everyday peacemakers who are contending for the flourishing of the human beings trapped within.
Last week, we concluded one of our “Immigrant’s Journey” Learning Labs with Pastors and Influencers from Southern California who represent tens of thousands of people. Their understanding deepened and their perspective shifted from immigration as a strictly political issue to immigration as a comprehensive human issue.  We discovered that we are all immigrants made in the image of an Immigrant God.  As a result, these faith leaders are now ready to mobilize their communities into our Learning Lab’s so they can become equipped to welcome the strangers that live in the shadows of their own neighborhoods.
Just a few days ago, we had dinner with one of our Palestinian peacemaker friends who articulated the need, now more than ever, for TGIP.  We must continue the work we're doing in forming peacemakers who see the humanity and dignity of all and mobilizing the American Church into the Israel-Palestine conflict in a redemptive way.
From local churches to international non-profits and from local politicians to the White House, leaders are engaging our work and its resulting in a peacemaking movement.  The need is growing and we’re doing our best to respond to the invitation to increase our capacity.
The time is now for us to experience a more robust expression of Global Immersion's mission.  We need your financial partnership.
Will you join our work of forming everyday peacemakers and in supporting the peacemakers embedded in Israel/Palestine and the Immigration Crisis by offering a one-time gift and/or an ongoing, monthly contribution?
