Hi Resurrection West friends,
Pastor Jason is enjoying some much deserved vacation time with his family and he asked me to write this week's e-note. There are a lot of awesome things happening at Resurrection West right now, including many exciting opportunities for knowing, loving and serving God and our neighbors; so here we go . . .
This Sunday, I am honored to preach live at West. The title of the sermon is "The Ever Reaching, Never Ceasing Family of God" and the scripture is Acts 2:42-47. I will focus on mission ministry and will talk quite a bit about our recent Resurrection West mission trip to Honduras. We will also have the following available on Sunday to give you opportunities to get involved in our ongoing partnership with Honduras.

Final Sunday for Ridgeview Elementary School Supply Drive. First a huge THANK YOU! Once again, Pastor Jason issued the challenge and you exceeded expectations! Every single brown shopping bag was taken from the altar and entry way table to be filled with school supplies for students at Ridgeview. Please bring your filled bags back to church on Sunday. We will deliver them to Ridgeview as part of the MEGA MISSION on Saturday, August 2. Thank you for making a positive difference in the lives of children in this very tangible way. 
Sign-up for MEGA MISSION. Next Saturday, August 2, meet at Resurrection West at 9 am for project selection, instructions, donut holes, coffee and prayer.Then, we will pack up all supplies and head over to Ridgeview Elementary to help beautify the grounds and prepare the classrooms for the start of the new school year. We will also host a celebration cookout luncheon for the Ridgeview community -- complete with water play and fun for all ages! Wear your MEGA MISSION t-shirts (extras will be available) and help bless the school! All activities and clean-up should be finished by 1:30 pm. Rezlife Mission Trip. More than 50 high school students and adult leaders will leave for Denver, CO, on Sunday morning for their annual mission trip. They will serve meals to the homeless population, share the Gospel with children through VBC, partner with organizations to help restore inner-city neighborhoods -- and so much more! Please keep these students, volunteers and Pastor Tyler in your prayers this week.

Explore Life in Alpha. Do you have questions about the Christian faith? Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, friendly environment. Alpha at Resurrection West meets for 10 weeks beginning Sunday, September 21, immediately following the 5 pm worship service (at approximately 6:15 pm). Register at https://rezwest.org/alpha. Rezlife Student Ministries Fall Confirmation Journey - Are you an 8th-12th grader ready to grow deeper in your faith? Confirmation kicks off Sunday, Sept. 14. As we close out the summer, Resurrection West KiDS COR is in need of additional volunteers to work with our elementary students during the 9 and 10:45 am worship services. Olathe Summer Concert Series - Friday, Aug. 1, 7pm. Join Resurrection West friends as we gather at Frontier Park in Olathe (15501 Indian Creek Pkwy.) for a performance by Liverpool and special guest Last Chance Flight. Wear any Resurrection West t-shirt, if you have one, and look for Dave Robertson (the tall guy with the Resurrection West sign). That way we can hopefully find each other and sit together. Coffee with the Pastors - Sunday, Aug. 24, 2:30-4:30 pm. Are you considering joining Resurrection? The first step is to attend Coffee with the Pastors where you will learn more about the church, get to know our pastors and review expectations regarding membership. Childcare is available. Sacred Steps 5k - Sept. 20, 8 am. How can you help supply clean water to families in Africa? Join our Sacred Steps 5k at the Leawood Campus. This event helps to raise funds so that our Methodist partners can dig wells in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. You can walk, run or just donate and enjoy the food and drink at the finish line. Men's Retreat - Fly-fishing at Rockbridge Rainbow Trout & Game Ranch, Oct. 24-26. A great opportunity for guys to come together through devotion, worship, fellowship and fly-fishing!
