Legalization of the Work
The process of legalizing the work of the Church of the Nazarene in Guinea-Bissau began more than a year ago. There were many struggles during the year. But, thanks to the prayers of His people and the completion of all requirements, it is a joy to share that the Government of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau now considers the Church of the Nazarene legal and has given it this designation: Igreja do Nazareno em Guinea-Bissau. Pray for the Lord’s blessing on the ministry of the church for years to come.
Jim Radcliffe
Missionary doctor Jim Radcliffe underwent heart surgery on July 17. On July 21 he and his wife, Kathy, wrote, “We are praising God for many answers to prayer and for the wonderful care at Cleveland Clinic. Oh, how we thank you for standing with us in prayer and encouragement. We lift our praises to the Lord, thank Him for many blessings as we walked through open heart surgery.” Dr. Jim will soon travel from Cleveland to Mt. Vernon, Ohio, to continue recovery. Pray for complete healing. 
ANU Law School
Africa Nazarene University’s (ANU) Law School has been granted full accreditation for five years by Kenya’s Council of Legal Education (CLE). The school is the first to be granted a five-year term by the CLE. We praise God for His provisions for ANU’s Law School and its leadership.

Church Attacked
Last week, the youth of a Nazarene church in India were meeting in their church building when a radical group entered the building and beat the pastor and the youth members, as well as broke the church’s cross and other furniture. The attackers threatened the congregation if they did not close their church permanently. Several members of the mob were arrested and there is a police investigation ongoing. 
Please pray for the emotional and physical recovery of our Nazarene members; pray for the police as they investigate this attack. Pray also for those who are members of the radical group, that they would experience the love of Christ and be transformed into followers of Jesus. Pray for the future of this church, that the members would remain strong in their faith and witness.
LINKS Missionaries
Many Nazarene districts around the world are active in the LINKS ministry. August is typically the month churches put a special emphasis on LINKS and the missionaries assigned to them. Recently, Scott Rainey who serves in Ukraine said, 
This year is the first year we have been assigned as LINKS. Last month my family Skyped in to the East Kentucky District NMI Convention, the district assigned to us. We were overwhelmed the next morning when we received our financial statement from headquarters that showed a gift from what looked like every church on the East Kentucky District. We felt very loved and cared for. The blessing is much more than the money, it is knowing that you are not forgotten. 
If your church has been assigned a LINKS missionary, please remember to pray for them, send encouraging notes, and ask God to bless their work.

Angela Ketchum
Heart surgery for missionary doctor Jim Radcliffe as been rescheduled to July 17 at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Please pray for Jim, his wife Kathy, and the family as the surgery date approaches. Pray that the surgeon's skilled hands make the necessary repairs. Jim will have a second surgery sometime after the open-heart procedure to remove an adrenal gland tumor. Pray for complete healing for Dr. Jim who serves in Papua New Guinea.
