Hello Resurrection Blue Springs Family and Friends,
I'm sending the enote out a little early this week to remind you of our Family Fun Night on Friday at 5:30 pm!  This evening is the conclusion to an incredible week of Vacation Bible Camp and the whole church is invited.  We'd love it if you'd bring your friends along too! We will start with a short presentation closing VBC, which will include a missions report, and a few songs the children have grown to love this week. Then we will have burgers and hot dogs and open it up for the final fun with water inflatables, shaving cream and more (kids - wear your swimsuits and bring towels)! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for dinner time and observing the fun.
I am pleased to announce that Stephanie Weigel has joined our staff team as the new Guest Services Coordinating Assistant. Stephanie will be coordinating all of our Sunday morning and special event volunteers.  In other words, all the teams that help provide radical hospitality to our visitors and members. Stephanie has been an intregal part of our hospitality team at Resurrection Blue Springs since we became a new campus.  She is excited to take on this new role and will be seeking additions to our volunteer teams in the coming weeks.  She'll be hunting you down," she said, to be a part of this important ministry work. 
Please be in prayer this week for our Navaho Nation Mission Team. There are twenty-one participants traveling to Windowrock, NM for a week of mission work, nine from our own Blue Springs campus.   The team is headed by Pat and Debbie Stidham.  Also, keep in prayer the teams leaving for South Africa and Honduras this week as well.

School Supply Drive through July 27. Help to make sure every student in Eastern Jackson County has school supplies to start the 2014-15 school year through Community Services League Back to School Fairs. A list of most needed supplies is available at Guest Services or for a complete list click here. Bring donated supplies to the collection barrel in the KiDS COR check-in area through July 27. Call the church office at 816-389-8900 to arrange to drop off supplies during the week. 
Harvesting Your Wonderful Godly Self! A Biblically-Based Motivational Bible Study for Busy Women led by Patricia Sanders-Hall, M.A., Mondays, July 7-August 4 , 6:30-8 pm. This study uses gardening and farming terms as metaphors for ways we can achieve a closer relationship with God.
Weeks 2-5: Women’s Bible Study – Mondays, July 14, 21, 28 & August 4, 6:30–8pm, Resurrection Blue Springs.
If you’re helping with VBC, or just didn't make it to the first session, feel free to jump in starting week two of this study. Sign up online or at Guest Services on Sunday.
Special Baptism Service – Sunday, July 13. This special Baptism Services is an opportunity for people of all ages to receive the Sacrament of Baptism and for anyone who is feeling a desire to reaffirm their baptismal covenant and commitment to discipleship. Anyone desiring baptism by immersion or sprinkling is invited to participate, along with their families and members of our church family. The service will be held at the Scott’s backyard pool (1308 NE Hilltop Dr.) Sunday, July 13, 5 pm. We’ll celebrate the evening with some food and fellowship. Sign up at Guest Services on Sunday. July FaithWork – Serve at ReStore, the thrift store that helps fund our local Habitat for Humanity. We will be working at this new store, located on North 7 Highway between QuikTrip and Price Chopper, Saturday, July 19. This is an awesome opportunity to make a difference in our community as we prepare, price and sell items at ReStore. Meet at our church at 9:45 am for carpool; we will work till about 2 pm. Sign up at Guest Services.  Let’s serve in our community together!
Special Needs Ministry – Please join us as we develop a plan to launch Matthew’s Ministry at Resurrection Blue Springs. On Sunday, July 27, at noon, we’ll share a light meal and ideas on how we can best meet the needs of Special Needs Families. Feel free to invite families outside our church who would be interested in participating.
