Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement, as he looked into the fiery furnace and asked his advisers, "Weren't there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire? Look, I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods." (Daniel 3: 24, 25).
Whether young or old, these stories from the Bible speak to us at our own level, don't they? This time for me, this story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace reminds me that whenever I act in what I believe to be in obedience to God, I may face fiery trials, but there is always "another who "looks like a Son of God" who is with me, and while the fringes of my garments might be burnt, nothing can touch my inner being, or as Paul states it in Romans 8: "Nothing can separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus, our Lord."
What about you, what does this story say to you today?
