Jews for Jesus Behold Your God Campaign Postponed Monday, August 25 2014

After prayer and consultation, it is with deep regret that Jews for Jesus is postponing the upcoming Behold Your God campaign that was to take place in Ashkelon and Ashdod, the area in Israel most affected by incoming rockets from Hamas.

While it was our hope that the talks in Cairo would lead to a halt in the hostilities, instead we now see an escalation of military activity. Our staff have noticed that people living in the south have been moving away. In addition, due to recent instructions from the Israeli Defense Force Home Command, malls and beaches are emptying. All the places that we wanted to be out and engaging people with the Gospel of Jesus will be quiet and in some cases – abandoned.

Our concern for the safety of those who were to take part in this Behold Your God effort, along with the realization that we will not be able to effectively use those tools we have prepared for evangelism in the places we want to be, makes this postponement unavoidable.

Says Dan Sered, leader of the Israel work of Jews for Jesus, "We look forward to a time in the future when we can hold our South Shore Behold Your God campaign and make the messiahship of Yeshua (Jesus) an unavoidable issue to our people in Ashkelon and Ashdod."

Some ways that you, our prayer partners, can help right now:

1.     Pray for those who were to participate in the campaign that they not be discouraged, but that God would give them cause to be refreshed in Him. 2.     Pray for wisdom for our leadership team to know the right timing to have the campaign. 3.     Pray that we find grace with the airlines as tickets need to be refunded or credited for future flights. 4.     Pray most of all for a cessation of hostilities in Israel and Gaza and for Israelis and Palestinians to turn to Yeshua, the Prince of Peace.
