Trinity United Methodist Church Daily Scripture Email Devotion for Monday, 25 August 2014 "Write the Vision"
Then The Lord replied: "Write down the vision and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay." (Habakkuk 2:2,3)
God's ways, and God's timing are different than ours are. There's a good saying that goes like this: "God is never in a hurry, but God is never late." All of us have wanted God to "hurry up" and get things done RIGHT NOW! haven't we? But that is almost never the way it happens. And yet, God is working, silently, behind the scenes, imperceptibly, but most assuredly. Jesus said it this way: "If you being human long to give good gifts to your children, how much more does your Heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him!" (Matt 7:11).
You can "write it down" and you can count on it. Habakkuk says so, Jesus says so, and so do a myriad followers of His. Amen
