This Lent, we invite you to remember the stories of your own life and family, as we study the big story of God's love.
We are beginning six-week small groups for the season of Lent--ending the week before Easter. Each week, in the small groups, you will share stories from life, connected to biblical themes. We will watch short life stories on video. We will read the Bible together. We will talk about life and faith--building community, drawing closer to God, and seeing how our lives intersect with God's story.
There are small groups meeting at different times of the week--sign up to be a part of one of them. Options include:
Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30 (starts Feb 22) at church
led by Carol Ledbetter and Cat Kim (nursery care available)
Sunday afternoons from 2-3pm (starts Feb 22) at Rick and Aileen Yap's home in Rancho PV
Tuesday evenings from 7-8pm (starts Feb 24) at Grace and Jon Saari's home in Hermosa Beach
Thursday mornings from 11am-noon (starts Feb 26) at church, led by Pastor Molly
Thursday evenings from 7-8pm (starts Feb 26) led by Laura Young
and Monday evenings from 7:30-8:30 (starts Feb 23) for our 20/30s group,
led by Amanda Kuczun
We also have leaders ready for a second group on Sunday mornings or Tuesday evenings if we have too many folks sign up for those times! When you sign up, we'll make sure you have the information you need to attend.
We also invite you to a daily journal/reflection on the stories of your life. Follow us onTwitter or Facebook to get the topic for each day--or download the whole set. You can pick them up on labels, suitable for sticking in your journal, in the church office.
The daily reflections are designed around the themes for our small groups and for Sundayworship--they will give you a way to reflect deeply on your own life.
We're collecting stories together, too. We have a special round-robin story-sharing journal project, designed especially to work for families and with people of all ages. Sign up, and add to our community journals on themes of the season, writing or drawing stories from your own family life.
There will be more ways to share stories--in our worship and community life. I hope you will join in and make this a meaningful season.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Molly
