Resurrection West,
Thank you to the many of you who brought in food for our Souper Bowl food drive. I snapped this pic last Sunday, which represents half of what you gave over the two weeks. Many homes will have food because of your generosity!

I was walking through the Leawood campus of our Church this morning and saw the preparation for the Inspired for Life women’s conference happening tonight and tomorrow. I know many of you are participating from our West Campus and I pray that God will inspire, equip, and encourage you this weekend on the retreat. Here is a pic I snapped of the amazing decorations going up.

With that in mind, I’d like to invite all men to the men’s retreat coming up on March 6 & 7. I will be there and hope many of you will participate. I believe it will be an incredible weekend as we worship, learn, and connect together as men. I am excited to be speaking this year along with Chris Folmsbee and Jeff Kirby. Also, don’t miss the All-Church conference at Resurrection West next Tuesday, Feb. 10th from 7:00-8:15pm. Mike Chamberlain our District Superintendent, who is responsible for oversight of the United Methodist Churches in the Kansas City district will preside over the gathering where we will vote to move forward in our building expansion this coming year. This will be a historical night and your presence there is so important! We have launched a web-site filled with information, design plans, testimonial videos, and more to keep you informed. We will be adding new material each week as we pray and prepare for the next step in our building development here at Resurrection West. Go to our new site at branchingout.rezwest.org

Next Friday night we are hosting a Matthew’s Ministry Family Night Out – Friday, Feb. 13. Parents of children with special needs can have an evening out while their special needs family member and their siblings enjoy fun crafts, games and friendship-building! Light meal served. Parents may bring their children
at 5:30 pmor later and return to sign them out by 8 pm. Register at rezwest.org/children. If you would like to serve as a volunteer for this event, email Vicki.Holdman@cor.org.
Reconnect Marriage Class – Many couples have a difficult time in their marriage following the birth or adoption of a child. This class will help couples reconnect as partners to strengthen their marriages and help them be better parents. The 3-week class is from 12:30-2:30 pm, Sundays starting Feb. 22. Alpha Prayer Course Coming in March – Looking for a fresh perspective on prayer and how to do it? Journey with us through the Lord’s Prayer in this 6-week course. Sessions begin with a meal, followed by a short talk and time to discuss what has been taught. Alpha Prayer begins Monday, March 30, 6:30 pm. Childcare is available with registration. Backpacks for Hunger – Thousands of children in the Kansas City area face a long weekend with little or nothing to eat. Be a blessing to children attending one of Resurrection’s partner schools by helping to fill backpacks. At Resurrection West, we fill backpacks for children at Ridgeview Elementary in Olathe. Share your Heart All Church Serve Day
• Saturday, February 14 • Leawood Campus (Bldg. B) For our Resurrection West February FaithWork, we will be meeting in Leawood with all Resurrection campuses as one church to take action right here in our own community and be a part of saving lives around
the world. In partnership with Heart to Heart International’s Operation Ebola, we invite you to join in packing 10,000 care kits that will be distributed worldwide for those suffering after a natural disaster or in areas of widespread illness including the Ebola epidemic in Africa. A variety of other family-friendly serving, educational and inspirational events are also scheduled throughout the day. Come for just an hour or two, or make a day of it. Multiple shifts available between 9 am and 3 pm. Lunch will be available for purchase. Sign up on the bulletin insert or visitcor.org/shareyourheart to register, invite a friend or make a donation.
Finally, this Sunday Pastor Adam will be preaching from the continent of Africa! You will get a chance to see the impact your prayer, support, and generosity is having in organizations like Zoe Ministries in Madisi, Malawi. Zoe’s work in equipping older children to care for their younger siblings is just incredible! Don’t miss worship on Sunday!
