Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs,
I was amazed on Sunday morning to see the sacks and sacks of groceries brought in for our Souper Bowl Food Drive. Rez Blue Springs collected a total of 833 lbs of food (net weight). Out of this total, 557 lbs will be used in our Healthy Foundations ministry to feed hungry students right here in Blue Springs. Thank you to everyone who contributed donations of grocercies or funds!
This weekend we are beginning a new two-week sermon series on ‘Missional Living.’ Pastor Adam will be preaching live from Malawi, Africa this week. He’ll be talking about the importance of reaching out beyond the walls of the church and into the world. Having been blessed by our recent mission trip to Jamaica, I want to encourage you to be present in worship and to ask yourself the question, “What might God be calling me to do?” There are many opportunities to serve both here and abroad. I’ll hope you will invite friends and join us in worship on Sunday at 9 or 10:45 am.
Congratulations go out to Diane and Andrew Enlow and family. Asher Cain Enlow was born on Tuesday, February 3rd at 4:55 am. He was 10 lbs. 3 oz. and 22.7 inches long. Diane serves as our Director of Children's Ministries. During her maternity leave, Caitlin Willis and Christie Walker will be taking the lead and coordinating volunteers for KiDSCOR. We are blessed to have such a great and deep team willing to serve our children. If you've thought about joining the crew of KiDSCOR volunteers, we could certainly use some extra hands for the growing need during week nights as we expand our community offerings. If you have questions about what it would entail, contact caitlin.willis@rezbluesprings.org.
One last reminder, don't forget to sign up for the Valentine Dinner by Monday, Feb. 9th! We will be ordering food this week and making final arrangements for childcare and we want to make sure you don't miss out on this fun evening.
