PRAISES:
Riggins Family Praise
Last September we praised God for the arrival of Audrey Riggins, newborn daughter of missionaries Scot and Jill Riggins. Recently her cardiologist in Manila gave little Audrey a clean bill of health and the family will take her to a follow-up appointment while in the U.S. for home assignment. Speaking of home assignment, last week the seven members of the Riggins family headed to the airport in Manila. They had faced many passport and VISA issues and needed God to move a mountain in the area of immigration in order to depart on schedule January 25. On January 26, Jill posted, “We are all seven on our flight as scheduled. No extra fees…some fees waived! Only God.”
Caribbean Nazarene College Inauguration
We praise God for how He uses the gifts of Nazarene missionaries. Anthony and Barbara Manswell serve in Trinidad and have ministered for years at CNC. In November 2014, Anthony was inaugurated as the college’s 11th president. Read more in this article from NCN News.
Southeast Asia Prayer and Praise
Asia-Pacific Regional Communications Coordinator Todd Aebischer says, “I am often the recipient of incredible stories of faith being lived out and God responding in ways that are truly miraculous. How I wish I could share every story with you. Unfortunately, some of our areas are just too sensitive. Please pray specifically for our team members in Southeast Asia. God is opening doors of opportunity like never before.”
PRAY FOR:
GLOBAL MINISTRY REQUESTS
Haiti Unrest
Missionaries in Haiti, Darin and Tonya Kucey, share, "We just got back from Guatemala only to find out that there is an increase in the riots here. Today the children were being transported to their school with another parent (we had not gotten back from Guatemala yet) when a taxi driver waved them down to tell them to turn around, that the crowd was throwing rocks. They turned around only to hear gunshots and then saw people running. There are expected demonstrations tomorrow as well." Pray for peace. Pray for safety for the Haitian people and our missionaries.
Extreme Nazarene
Pray for the members of an Extreme 40/40 church planting team who have arrived in Quito, Ecuador, for training. These missionaries will help Extreme Nazarene in its efforts to plant churches in South America’s large metropolitan cities. Click here to read more from the NCN News article. Lifetime of Service
The ministry of the Nazarene hospital in Kudjip, Papua New Guinea, extends beyond tending to the sick and dying. Recently a nurse named Cathy Mia retired from a lifetime of service as a nurse at the hospital. Cathy was born in a remote village in Papua New Guinea. She couldn’t read or write because there were no schools. Then she met Nazarene missionaries who taught her and eventually she enrolled in nursing school. Upon graduation in 1975, Cathy began working with Nazarene Health Ministries until the end of 2014. Pray for every aspect of the ministry that takes place at the mission station in Kudjip, PNG. Read Cathy’s whole story in the NCN News article.
Freedom Sunday
Please be in prayer for the efforts going into Freedom Sunday, which will be observed on February 22. On Freedom Sunday, Nazarenes are invited to join other denominations to pray, raise awareness, and give surrounding the problem of human slavery, and to celebrate what God is doing to set the captives free. Go toNCM.org/FreedomSunday to learn more about how your involvement can help.
NMI District Leadership Conference
More than 100 Nazarene Missions International (NMI) leaders will gather in Kansas City February 6-9, for a leadership conference. Ask God to prepare the hearts and minds of all those in attendance and provide traveling mercies.

Pray for missionary Lisa Lehman who has been hospitalized in Thailand for observation and fever treatment as a result of an Influenza infection. Please pray for a rapid and complete recovery.
GLOBAL CONCERNS – BODY OF CHRIST
Prayer Points for the Persecuted Church—From Open Doors
For generations, refugees have found a place of refuge in Lebanon. Pray that the Church will be able to continue to reach out to the suffering refugees in this country.
Many women are left as widows because their husbands paid the ultimate price for their faith. Pray for both their emotional and spiritual strength.
Pray that an anti-conversion bill won’t be passed in Myanmar. The bill restricts the country’s citizens from changing their faith without government registration.
A number of believers in Brunei have been taught to Biblically prepare themselves for hardships and pressure. May these endeavors help reduce the high level of fear among Bruneian Christians and that they can freely live out their faith.
Thank you for praying.
Let God’s promises shine on your problems.[Corrie Ten Boom (Dutch author, speaker, and concentration camp survivor)]
