Weekly eNote from Pastor Scott - Friday, 6 February 2015 of The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Downtown

Weekly eNote from Pastor Scott - Friday, 6 February 2015 of The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Downtown
Greetings RezDowntowners,
I want to begin this week’s eNote by sharing what an absolute privilege it is to be able to build Christian community with you in the center of this city. I don’t pause to share my appreciation for all that you are doing and for all that you are allowing God to do through you to change lives, transform the community, and to renew churches. Thank you so much. All week long, I have been walking past more and more donations for the Souper Bowl Food Drive. I’ve received great stories from people who have been blessed or positively influenced by you in some way, shape or form, and it just feels so good to be in ministry here with you! Thank you.
This weekend we are beginning a new two-week sermon series on ‘Missional Living.’ Pastor Adam will be preaching live from Malawi, Africa. He’ll be talking about the importance of reaching out beyond the walls of the church and into the world. It will be a great opportunity to be present in worship and asking the question, “What might God be calling me to do?” I’ll hope you will invite friends and join us in worship this weekend on Saturday or Sunday at our usual times.
Lastly, we have a lot of opportunities coming up for community building and fellowship this upcoming week. Our Women’s Conference begins tonight. Make It On Monday returns on Monday evening. Our Wednesday Men’s Breakfast this week features an outstanding and faithful business leader, Mike Testman, and our Singles With A Twist group and Young Adults are both hosting social outings at Quay Coffee (SWAT) and The Brick (Young Adults). I hope you’ll consider being a part of some or all of those community outings!
