Want Your Congregation to Tell Hundreds about Your Church . . . This Week?
Church people are often encouraged to tell others about their church but we know the reality – most people will not bring an unchurched guest to church this year. Often they say they are uncomfortable talking about their faith, they do not know enough about the Bible, they do not want to impose on people, etc.
I was in a church not long ago and we were encouraged to check-in on Facebook. I have experienced this in a few congregations so it was not completely out of the ordinary. We were further told, however, that with every check-in a contribution would be made towards providing warm coats for needy children. Wanting to know more about this, I contacted the pastor and he put me in touch with someone from the company which was coordinating the program. Allow me to tell you more about it. Let me say at the outset that I do not have a financial interest in this company nor do I receive any compensation from them. I did provide them with some feedback and exchanged a number of email with them but did so because I liked what they were trying to do, not because they paid me.
Check-In Angels is a program that turns your church community into your biggest social media ambassadors by giving them a powerful way to do real world good using something they’ve never parted with – their phones. Currently in over 600 locations, Check-In Angels has quickly become a top referral program for local businesses. Now it is available for the church community with a simple yet powerful mission: check-in, do good, reach more people.
A friend to friend recommendation is a powerful thing. Combining it with an easy way to help others is even more powerful. Check-In Angels gives your church the chance to harness that power; to reach people where they are and give them an easy, rewarding, and non-threatening way to spread the word. Strategies for reaching new people don’t have to be confusing, expensive, or time-consuming. Your social media presence is sitting in your seat every weekend, phone in hand. The solution is simple: don’t just send them out, ask them to check-in.
Check-In Angels has the ability to track the number of check-ins at your church and the resulting Facebook impressions. It also checks out the various mission groups so you can be confident that you are supporting a worthy cause. They can provide you with an auto-updating digital display, promotional material and more. There is a monthly investment for the program and a small additional amount per check-in which goes to support the mission of the month.
