Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño, Resident Bishop of the California-Pacific Conference, will be honored as a "Giant of Justice" at Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice's (CLUE) Annual Breakfast/Fundraiser on May 26, 2016.
Rabbi Jonathan Klein, Executive Director of CLUE, says, "As a national leader on the forefront of loving all people, Bishop Carcaño has shown over and over again her commitment to the poor, to those in the margins, to the underserved. Bishop Carcaño will receive the award from another saint of United Methodist leadership, CLUE founder, visionary of nonviolence theory and Giant of Justice in his own right, Rev. James Lawson."
This year's breakfast/fundraiser theme is, "20 Years in the Struggle," and will take place at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church in Los Angeles, CA. In addition to a breakfast meal, the event includes other honorees, a keynote address, and an opportunity to place an ad in the printed program.
CLUE’s mission is to bring together clergy and lay leaders of all faiths to join low-wage workers in their struggles for justice. The organization has shared a longstanding close relationship with The United Methodist Church.
Inspiring the world as passionate followers of Jesus Christ so all may experience God's life-giving love...
