"God is Powerful"
Bible Reading: Psalm 29:1-5Psalm 29:(0) A psalm of David:

(1) Give Adonai his due, you who are godly;

give Adonai his due of glory and strength;

2 give Adonai the glory due his name;

worship Adonai in holy splendor.

3 The voice of Adonai is over the waters;

the God of glory thunders,

Adonai over rushing waters,

4 the voice of Adonai in power,

the voice of Adonai in splendor.

5 The voice of Adonai cracks the cedars;

Adonai splinters the cedars of the L’vanon

One summer I was hiking in the mountains. Suddenly a strong wind came down the mountain and into the valley. The trees swayed back and forth, but they did not break. No matter how strong the wind blew, the trees stood strong.
Our Bible Reading today reminds us that God is very powerful. Verses 4 and 5 say, "The Lord's voice is powerful. It shows the Lord's glory. The Lord's voice shatters great cedar trees. The Lord breaks the great cedars of Lebanon." God is so powerful that even the sound of His voice can break strong trees!
Because God is powerful, we should praise Him and thank Him for what He has done for us. Our response to Him should be to bow down and worship Him.
Take time today to think about God's great power. Thank Him for the things He has made and for His gift of salvation. -CS
"Praise the Lord and honor his name! Worship the Lord in all his holy beauty. The Lord's voice can be heard over the sea. The voice of our glorious Lord God is like thunder over the great ocean."[Psalm 29:2-3]
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, You are so powerful. I love You and worship You. In Jesus' name. Amen.
