"Call to Prayer: Haitian Immigrants"
The California-Pacific Conference is called to prayer as hundreds of Haitian immigrants recently were camped out at the San Ysidro Port of Entry of the US/Mexico border awaiting processing.
Exodus United Methodist Church (San Diego, CA), which is home to a Haitian ministry, is making preparations to respond to the situation.
Rev. Bill Jenkins of Exodus UMC has been in touch with the Immigrant Rights Consortium. And, Bishop Minerva G. CarcaƱo and Rev. John Farley, South District Superintendent, are in collaboration with Rev. Jenkins on next steps.
Lord, in your mercy...
