Deaf Devo from Deaf Missions in Council Bluffs, Iowa, United States "God's Children" for Saturday, 30 July 2016 - Bible Reading: Ephesians 1:3-6Ephesians 1:3 Praised be Adonai, Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, who in the Messiah has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heaven. 4 In the Messiah he chose us in love before the creation of the universe to be holy and without defect in his presence. 5 He determined in advance that through Yeshua the Messiah we would be his sons — in keeping with his pleasure and purpose — 6 so that we would bring him praise commensurate with the glory of the grace he gave us through the Beloved One.

When a farm animal dies while giving birth, the farmer must find a way to keep the baby animal alive. Sometimes another mother animal will accept the baby as her own. She will feed the baby and take care of it just like it was her own.
Before we know Jesus, we live in sin. We are separated from God. But when we follow and obey Jesus, He forgives our sins. Then God accepts us and makes us His children and gives us His spiritual blessings. Verse 5 of our Bible Reading says, "And before the world was made, God decided to make us his own children through Jesus Christ. That was what God wanted, and it pleased him to do it."
Isn't that wonderful? God wants us to be His children. He wants to give us good things. God wants us to call Him "Father." Even if you do not have a good relationship with your earthly family, you can have an eternal relationship with God.
