N.B. a resolution to amend the Constitution will be tabled at the AGM which proposes changes to (a) allow the charity to use electronic banking and (b) to permit Trustee meetings to be held online as well as face to face. Full details of the proposed amendments are available on request.

Two valued Trustees are stepping down at this year's AGM, so we are looking for people to join the Committee to ensure DHG continues to move forward and fulfil the needs of members.
You don't need to be an expert in any particular field, even heart problems, just have an interest in DHG and be willing to get involved, although we would particularly welcome someone with IT skills as well as any parent/carers with younger or school aged children and any siblings.
The Committee meets every 6 to 8 weeks, generally for an online meeting of 60 - 90 minutes, with at least one face to face meeting each year. These are held as centrally as possible for all Trustees, currently in Birmingham and generally last about 4 - 5 hours. All expenses are reimbursed.
Apart from contributing to meetings and discussions via email and the odd phone call, how much you put into being a Trustee is flexible but we do need a reasonable level of commitment. We appreciate that time is precious and it may not be practical to attend all meetings, but there are requirements we must meet as a charity, so we do need Trustees to be committed to the organisation.
If you would like to know more, or feel you cannot commit to becoming a Trustee but could still offer help, we would love to hear from you. So please get in touch for an informal chat about joining us.

Could your youngster be on our next front cover? Would you like everyone to read their story? It doesn't have to be world shattering - perhaps they've been through a particularly rough time; they do something that makes you laugh; maybe they do something you wish they didn't and you're looking for ideas and coping strategies. Whatever it is, we want to hear from you.
As well as stories we want to share news on clubs, hobbies, useful equipment - anything that could help other families. What are you struggling with and what really helps? Let's get behind each other and share ideas, health tips, nice places to visit or good practice within health and social care.
All submissions are edited, so don't worry about spelling or typos, or how many words your item is, simply send it in with a high resolution photo or two and we'll do the rest.
Please email your piece to sarah@dhg.org.uk or if you prefer, send a hardcopy to National Office.

The Waving Not Drowning network for working families wants to know what is and isn’t working for carers and parents of disabled children trying to combine paid work with their caring responsibilities.
If you are looking after a child/young person of 25 or under who is disabled or has a long term health condition, please complete the survey (link below). It will inform Working Families’ campaigning for rights in the workplace and appropriate childcare/care and it will also tell them where you need more information about the rights you already have.
