The Deaf Devo - The Deaf Missions in Council Bluffs, Iowa, United States for Sunday, 30 July 2017 "Bible Buildings (9)" Bible Reading: Romans 16:3-5
Romans 16:3 Give my greetings to Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers for the Messiah Yeshua. 4 They risked their necks to save my life; not only I thank them, but also all the Messianic communities among the Gentiles. 5 And give my greetings to the congregation that meets in their house.
Give my greetings to my dear friend Epaenetus, who was the first person in the province of Asia to put his trust in the Messiah.
-------
Paul wrote many letters to churches to encourage them. Often Paul closed his letters by sharing his greetings with other Christians in that city.
In our Bible verses today, Paul sent his greetings to Priscilla and Aquila. "They were tentmakers, the same as Paul, so he stayed with them and worked with them" (Acts 18:3). In verse 5 of our Bible Reading, we learn that Priscilla and Aquila were also willing to open their home for church meetings. Verse 5a says, "Also, give greetings to the church that meets in their house."
Many Christians today are meeting in church buildings to worship God and fellowship with other Christians. But we need to remember that the church is not a building. The church is the people who follow and obey God. Christians can meet anywhere to worship God.
Take time today to thank God for Christians around the world.
"The churches in Asia send you
their greetings. Aquila and Priscilla greet you in the name of the Lord. Also the church that meets in their house sends greetings."
[1 Corinthians 16:19]
PRAYER: Dear God, thank You for my many brothers and sisters in Christ. In His name. Amen.
