Check out this month's news from Luther Seminary.

Committed to Reforming Work
Our staff and faculty are busy preparing for our new class of entering students. Final enrollment numbers will be confirmed after the start of the semester but we expect our enrollment will be flat compared to last year's incoming class. This is good for Luther Seminary, but it is especially good for the congregations they will someday serve.
See how you make a difference!
In a few weeks, new students will begin their first semester at Luther Seminary. As our graduates answer calls and before classes begin, we want to say "Thank you!" Here are just a few of the ways you make a difference for students and church leaders through your prayers and gifts.
Beyond Abundance: Faithful Stewardship Language to Fit Our Realities
For years, stewardship sermons and annual campaign materials have emphasized "God's abundance" in contrast to our culture's "myth of scarcity." But, what does abundance mean for congregations facing budget deficits, young adults burdened by student loans or older members who have not saved sufficiently for retirement?
Reformation Festival at Luther Seminary
With the fall quickly approaching, now is the time to make plans to attend the Reformation Festival at Luther Seminary. Join us on Oct. 27-28, 2017. The Reformation Festival includes speakers, music, worship and more than 20 workshops to choose from.
Enter the Bible: Too Busy for Sabbath?
Diane Jacobson, Luther Seminary professor emerita of Old Testament, takes on the question of Sabbath. What if the commandment that we most abuse is, in fact, the one we most need? Listen in on Jacobson's discussion with colleagues Eric Barreto and Kathryn Schifferdecker.

Book Recommendation
"Beyond the Offering Plate: A Holistic Approach to Stewardship” is an exciting new release this month. The book, edited by Luther Seminary professor Adam Copeland, features writings about stewardship by ten different pastors, seminary professors and church leaders. In ten chapters these writers consider stewardship in light of topics like time, technology, the body, spiritual gifts and more.
