The Deaf Devo - The Deaf Missions of Council Bluffs, Iowa, United States for Thursday, 31 August 2017 "Summer Fun (2)" Bible Reading: Psalm 8:1-9Psalm 8:1 (0) For the leader. On the gittit. A psalm of David:
2 (1) Adonai! Our Lord! How glorious
is your name throughout the earth!
The fame of your majesty
spreads even above the heavens!
3 (2) From the mouths of babies and infants at the breast
you established strength because of your foes,
in order that you might silence
the enemy and the avenger.
4 (3) When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and stars that you set in place —
5 (4) what are mere mortals, that you concern yourself with them;
humans, that you watch over them with such care?
6 (5) You made him but little lower than the angels,
you crowned him with glory and honor,
7 (6) you had him rule what your hands made,
you put everything under his feet —
8 (7) sheep and oxen, all of them,
also the animals in the wilds,
9 (8) the birds in the air, the fish in the sea,
whatever passes through the paths of the seas.

Our town newspaper asked people to share their fun summer experiences. One man told about taking his grandchildren to the fair. He said he was amazed that his grandchildren showed no fear. He was surprised that they didn't get sick on the rides.
There are many other fun things that people can do in the summertime. Being outdoors during the summer helps us enjoy God's world and praise Him for what He has done. Camping out in the woods helps us see all that God has made. It also helps us get away from the stress and worries of life.
Maybe the writer of our Bible verses for today was outside when he wrote, "I look at the heavens you made with your hands. I see the moon and the stars you created" (verse 3). The writer also thanks God that people are important to Him.
When you are outside today, look at the world around you. Thank God for what He has made. Praise Him for making you!
"Lord our Lord, your name is the most wonderful name in all the earth! [Psalm 8:9]
PRAYER: Dear God, thank You for all the wonderful things You have made for me. And thank You for loving me. In Jesus' name. Amen.
