He Has Risen
Grace is an unmerited favor.
Ephesians 4:7-9 (American Standard Version (ASV))

7 But unto each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 8 Wherefore he saith,
When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive,
And gave gifts unto men.
9 (Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth?

Ephesians 4:7-9 (Complete Jewish Bible (CJB))
7 Each one of us, however, has been given grace to be measured by the Messiah’s bounty. 8 This is why it says,
“After he went up into the heights,
he led captivity captive
and he gave gifts to mankind.”[
Ephesians 4:8 Psalm 68:19(18)]
9 Now this phrase, “he went up,” what can it mean if not that he first went down into the lower parts, that is, the earth?
THE SEVEN WORDS OF JESUS ON THE CROSS
Here are his Seven Words, the last seven expressions of Jesus Christ on the Cross recorded in Scripture.
THE FIRST WORD
"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do."
Luke 23:34
THE SECOND WORD
"Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."
Luke 23:43
THE THIRD WORD
"Jesus said to his mother: "Woman, this is your son."
Then he said to the disciple: "This is your mother."
John 19:26-27
THE FOURTH WORD
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34
THE FIFTH WORD
"I thirst."
John 19:28
THE SIXTH WORD
When Jesus had received the wine, he said, "It is finished;"
and he bowed his head and handed over the spirit.
John 19:30
THE SEVENTH WORD
Jesus cried out in a loud voice,
"Father, into your hands I commend my spirit."
Luke 23:46
Crucifixion was invented by the Persians in 300-400 BC and developed, during Roman times, into a punishment for the most serious of criminals. The upright wooden cross was the most common technique, and the time victims took to die would depend on how they were crucified.
Our Lord Jesus was subject to a cruel punishment and death. He laid His life down for us, His precious life was not taken, HE LAID IT DOWN FOR US.
He rose again on the third day and appeared to His disciples and also many others. His message was to go and make disciples in all the world, baptizing in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
As we reflect on the Holy day of Resurrection Sunday, let us remember the great sacrifice our Lord Jesus made for us.
Join us Wednesday's at 7 PM for bible study and more! Sunday intercessory prayer meeting at 6 AM and service time begins at 10 AM.
