Serve Saturday April 21

Join us for a morning of service #withKC out in the community! Invite family and friends to this intro to missions with RezDowntown. Work on your goal to serve 18 hours in 2018 and plug in with our partner school or education ministry, our construction ministry, or with one of our other Serve partners around KC and internationally. Email PastorPatrick@cor.org with questions!
Mental Health First Aid Gathering
Join members of Resurrection Downtown staff Saturday, April 21 at noon, 1508 Grand, to learn some of the key steps to helping someone in a mental health crisis. Lunch will be provided ($5 donation welcome but not expected). Please register here to let us know you’re coming! Curious what this is all about? Check out the Mental Health First Aid web site or contact PastorPatrick@cor.org with questions.
Spring Donation Drive
When you clean out your closets this spring, don’t toss out those work clothes, baby items, books or diapers! Between Serve Saturdays April 21 – May 19, drop your new or gently used donation items off at 1522 McGee before or after worship. Visit cor.org/downtown/serve for more details, or email PastorPatrick@cor.org with your questions!
Coffee With the Pastors
Do you consider Resurrection your church home and want to take the next step in your faith commitment? If so, join us April 22, 1:30 pm at 1522 McGee. Hear from our pastors about what it means to be a Methodist and the expectations for membership. You'll be able to say you joined when we were still worshiping in the McGee building! Registration is required and childcare is available. Please register online at cor.org/downtown/getconnected or email Shannon.Endicott@cor.org with questions!
40s and Up Study with Kelly Sisney
On Wednesday, April 25, at 6:30pm, join others as we discuss the book by Andy Stanley called “How Good is Good Enough?” Come discuss why Jesus taught that goodness is not even a requirement to enter heaven - and why Christianity is beyond fair. Explore what’s wrong with the most popular theory about heaven—and what it really takes to get there. The first 30 people to register will receive the booklet! (However, no book is needed for the class.) Register online at cor.org/downtown/getconnected. For questions, contact Kelly.Sisney@cor.org.
RezDT 20/30s Group Trivia
RezDT 20/30s Group Trivia kicks off on a new weeknight and location! Come join us at Chicken N Pickle (1761 Burlington St., North KCMO) on Thursday, April 26. Trivia begins at 7 pm on the rooftop. For questions, contact Emily Krause at emilynkrause@gmail.com or Shannon Sinn at ssinn@kc.rr.com.
RezMoms April 28
Please join us for a meeting focused on caring for ourselves as mothers! So often, we put self-care on the back burner and focus only on those around us! It is important for us to consider both our physical and mental health. So, we will gather to do a relaxing yoga session, share treats and discuss ways we can be better in treating ourselves with kindness! Hope you can join us! Friends are always welcome! We will meet in the coffee shop from 9-11am. Questions? Please contact Kristen Sayers at klynsayers@gmail.com. Reach out to Sarah.Brischle@cor.org to let her know if you will need childcare!
RezDads April 28
Meet at 1522 McGee at 9 am, drop off your kiddos, and head to Messenger Coffee for a time of fellowship and discussion with other RezDads. Email Sarah.Brischle@cor.org to let her know if you'll be dropping off your little ones, or reach out to Clay.Smith10@gmail.com with questions!
Men’s & Women’s Listen to My Life Workshop
Back by popular demand, this 3-day workshop, May 3, 4, & 5, (one for women, one for men) uses coaching and life purpose questions along with Christian spiritual practices to help you discover God's hand in your life story. Space is limited, so register soon! The class fee is $50 for materials and food, some scholarships available. The workshop will meet at 1522 McGee. To register, go to cor.org/downtown/getconnected. For questions, contact Pastor Matt.Bisel@cor.org.
Spread the Word Through Cookies!
On each First Friday during the summer, we hand out hundreds of cookies to folks enjoying the Crossroads Art District. We are doubling our cookie order for Friday, May 4, as we want to make sure we share the news of our Grand Opening of 1601 Grand! Would you be willing to show up at 1522 McGee at 6:30 pm, grab a bag of cookies and head out to simply give cookies away?...No explanation or sales pitch needed. The cookies will have our Grand Opening info on the bag! If you are able to be a “cookie greeter” please let Kelly.Sisney@cor.org know and she will send you a reminder as we get closer to May 4! (Also, we will be doing this again on June 1, the day before our opening!)
Save the Date! Year End Fun Day at Wendell Phillips
Join us for this fun and rewarding Serve opportunity May 24 at Wendell Phillips Elementary School, helping celebrate the last day of school and encouraging students to stick it out to the very end! There will be activities you can help lead throughout the morning and/or afternoon. Consider setting a day aside to join us in this wonderful partnership #withWP. Register online here, or email PastorPatrick@cor.org with questions!
