I was reading this morning in Luke 15 verse 10 which says this; “In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” This single Scripture is incredibly powerful. Jesus says that when a person repents and comes to Christ then there is rejoicing in heaven. On the day that you accepted Christ, there was rejoicing in heaven. This is amazing to think about!
Why is there rejoicing in heaven when repentance happens? I believe there is rejoicing because a son or a daughter of God has come home. Imagine if your child ran away and you searched forever to find them. You spend money on your search. You stay up all night searching. You call your friends and neighbors looking for them. And you just go to great lengths to find them. And suddenly one evening you get a knock at your door. It is your son or daughter returning home. Your heart would burst with excitement. In fact, I bet you would throw a party in celebration.
This is what God has done for us. We left home, we rebelled, we ran far from God. Since this happened, God has been going to great lengths to get you to come back home. He even sent His Son to die for you to win you back. When a person repents and comes back home to God, there is rejoicing in heaven! I simply love this concept!
When you came to Christ, rejoicing in heaven happened! And every time you lead someone to Christ, rejoicing in heaven happens!
For me I want as much rejoicing in heaven as possible! Let’s do our best to make sure that there is constant rejoicing in heaven through our efforts to win as many people to Christ as possible.
I am so thankful that we serve a God that never gives up. I am so thankful that we serve a God that is constantly seeking to save those who ran away! I am so thankful that God saved you and God saved me!
I hope you have a great week!
