Resurrection West,
I begin today’s eNote with a thanks to the 56 of you who donated at this past Tuesday’s Blood Drive. That’s 110 lives saved! And thanks to the many dedicated volunteers who work to put on the blood donation drives.
It was also an exciting afternoon last week at our largest baptism class to date with over 15 households gathering to learn about the sacrament of baptism in the United Methodist tradition and plan for their upcoming day. Baptism is always such a special time our lives and the life of our church. Remember you can register now for this summer’s lake baptism & worship night on August 5th at 6pm at the Shawnee Mission Lake Park swim beach. We will move our 5pmservice to the swim beach lakeshore that evening to celebrate in praise and baptism. You can register now at cor.org/west/baptisms. Write in ‘August 5th lake baptism’ in the notes section of the on-line form.
Sunday we will celebrate our high school and college graduates with a special gift for each of you and a special message from Pastor Adam asking, “What would Jesus say to our graduates?” that will conclude this series. If you’d like to see the parody prelude song from last week’s worship service ‘what I like about you, mom’ or the photo montage of dozens of special women at RezWest, click to our facebook page here.
Finally, last night we launched our first meeting of the RezWest Feasibility Team charged with assessing our needs, priorities, and costs associated with the upcoming building campaign in 2019. We conclude the 3-year commitment of Phase II giving that built our current front door entrance, narthex, nursery classrooms, cafe, and downstairs classrooms at the end of this month. Discussions include a possible activity center building (gymatorium), additional parking, next entrance/exit drive onto West Valley Parkway, office space, and Sanctuary renovation, allowing for additional worship seating just to name a few. This will be valuable work through the summer giving our next building committee the hand-off to design and develop. Please pray for God to give wisdom, understanding, and knowledge to this team as they do their kingdom work. More to come later this fall!
Looking forward to worship on Sunday,
Jason

Parking Lot Attendants Needed!
There is an urgent need for parking lot attendants at the 11am Sunday worship service. Serve God by safely guiding in the many people who worship here every week. Consultants tell us the first 11 minutes is "key" for the guest experience. The parking ministry is the first to welcome our guests and this is so important! If you are interested in serving, please contact Allan Henning at anhenning@gmail.com.
Congrats 2018 Grads!
Congratulations to our 2018 high school and college graduates! Graduates may pick up their special gift this Sunday at the back of the sanctuary following worship.
Hygiene Bag Donations

To help meet this need directly, our United Methodist Women’s Circle and our Monday Women’s Bible Study group are collecting personal hygiene essentials to bag and distribute to those in-need in the surrounding community. The items needed are as follows: large rolls of toilet paper, large bars of bath soap, large shampoos, large spray deodorants, toothpaste, toothbrushes (for all ages), laundry detergent pods and dishwashing soap. Please place your donations in the mission bins in the back of the sanctuary by Thursday, May 31. Thank you for making a positive difference in our community.
