On the evening of Saturday, July 7, 2018, a little while after dinner, my mother, Marian Ver Hey Medema VerHage peacefully and gracefully left her life on earth behind at the age of 97.
Possessing a lifelong assurance that death is but a doorway to greater life, she faced this transition not with any fear but with true joy and anticipation.
Of all the words one could use to describe her life, the one that stands out to me is the word grateful. She was my teacher, protector, friend, advocate, biggest fan and example of vibrant living faith. Good night, Mom.
